SING-ALONG-A-GOLDEN-GARTER
****************************************************************************************
SING-ALONG-A-GOLDEN-GARTER is a sing-along quiz that tests your ability to name Britain's Top Variety Entertainers from the 60’s and 70’s who appeared at Wythenshawe's famous cabaret venue, from their photos on the BIG screen, when you're not joining in with the lyrics from the songs that made the stars famous.
From 1969, JOHN ORCHARD worked with more than 100 headline acts including Cilla Black, Tommy Cooper, Ken Dodd, Bruce Forsyth, Bob Monkhouse, Roy Orbison, Cliff Richard & Dusty Springfield at Manchester’s sister club to the TALK OF THE TOWN, clocking up more than 1,000 performances at the GOLDEN GARTER as pianist with SHEP’S BANJO BOYS.
With archive material, backstage stories and revealing gossip from the dressing rooms, John will take you back to the heyday of Manchester's biggest and best Show Bar Theatre Restaurant where it all happened 45 years ago in Rowlandsway, Wythenshawe!
